Cash payout due to emigration

If you leave Switzerland permanently, you can withdraw either your entire vested benefits or just part (the non-compulsory portion). You can refer to the criteria under A) and B) to find out whether you can withdraw all or only part of your vested benefits.

We need a number of documents from you in order to make a cash payout. The documents we need depend on your account balance at the time of payout.

Check your account balance.

A) In these cases you can withdraw all your vested benefits:

  • you emigrated to an EU/EFTA state prior to 1 June 2007 (prior to 1 June 2009 for Romania and Bulgaria; prior to 1 January 2017 Croatia) or
  •  you have left Switzerland permanently and have emigrated to a non-EU/non-EFTA state or
  • you emigrated to an EU/EFTA state after 1 June 2007 (after 1 June 2009 for Romania and Bulgaria; after 1 January 2017 for Croatia) and are not subject to any social insurance obligations in this country.

Please note: the Principality of Liechtenstein has the same occupational benefits system as Switzerland and is therefore not deemed to be abroad in this context.

Please select the case below that applies to you.

My vested benefits have a value less than CHF 20,000.00.
